How much of what your students do outside their timetable ends up somewhere a graduate can actually show?

Skills develop in lectures and labs, and keep developing in a volunteering shift, a placement or a society committee. The curriculum is recorded on a transcript; the rest is not. An award sets criteria across both, certifies what meets them, and tells every student the university wants to see them succeed professionally, not only academically.

An award is how a university makes learning outside the timetable visible, and keeps students coming back to it.

Students self-assess and set goals, find activities that fit, take part and reflect, then share what they have earned. Pathways runs each step: the self-assessment tailors what a student sees first, progress counts itself, and the badge and Skills Profile close the loop. Then the cycle repeats, from first year to alumni.

How Pathways works.

  1. 01 · Create

    One intuitive editor to author awards programmes.

    • Create events, short courses, forms, quizzes and activities students log themselves, without a developer
    • Host workshops with bookings, waiting lists and check-in at the door, synced to Outlook and Google
    • Invite careers, the library, faculties and the students’ union to add their own activities, then curate it all into one catalogue students can search
  2. 02 · Track

    Set the levels, and let each badge issue itself.

    • Set the criteria — the things a student must do: hours, activities, reflections, learning outcomes — with as many levels as you need, built from the skills your institution says a graduate should have
    • Nudge students along: they see what is left to do, are reminded before an event, and their reflections reach your reviewers in one place, with your own approval steps
    • Issue a digital badge or certificate for each level the moment its criteria are met, and open the next level automatically
  3. 03 · Profile

    Every activity adds to the student’s Skills Profile.

    • Add each activity to the Skills Profile — the record of skills and evidence every student keeps — automatically, with the reflection, upload or result that evidences it
    • Share digital badges on the Skills Profile, and the profile itself by link, QR code or on LinkedIn
    • Keep it after graduation — students connect a personal email and password and sign in with those
  4. 04 · Report

    See what your provision develops, cohort by cohort.

    • Track progression by cohort, faculty and programme, and compare uptake across faculties to find who needs outreach
    • Show what your co-curricular provision develops, measured against the skills your institution says a graduate should have
    • Export to your data warehouse, or into a board paper
